Requirements
- Hold a temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) or Dependent Child visa (subclass 445)
- 2 years must have passed since you applied for the subclass 820 and 801 visas (may be waived for long-term relationships)
- Continue to be the spouse or de facto partner of the same person who sponsored your subclass 820 visa
- Continue to meet health and character requirements
- No outstanding debt to the Australian Government

- 2Provide updated relationship evidence (statutory declaration from sponsor, financial/household/social/commitment evidence)
- 3Provide an updated Australian police certificate if your previous one has expired
- 4Submit your Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment via ImmiAccount
- 5Wait for a decision — processing times vary; check the official visa processing time guide tool
- 6If granted, you become a permanent resident from the day the visa is granted
