Permits skilled workers currently working, or preparing to work, for an employer under a labour agreement to live and work in Australia permanently. Eligibility criteria (age, skills, English) are set by the specific labour agreement rather than standard department thresholds.

- Currently work, or be preparing to work, for a nominating employer party to a labour agreement
- Meet the age, skills, and English language requirements set by that specific labour agreement
- If onshore, hold a substantive 457 or 482 visa issued under a labour agreement
- Meet health and character requirements
- Hold mandatory state/territory licensing/registration/membership if applicable
Application Steps
- 1Confirm current or prospective employer is party to a labour agreement
- 2Employer lodges nomination application and receives Transaction Reference Number (TRN)
- 3Only get a skills assessment if the department specifically requests one
- 4Lodge visa application in ImmiAccount with TRN
- 5Attach identity, health, character documents (skills/English evidenced per labour agreement terms)
- 6Pay visa application charge (application not processed until paid)
- 7Respond to any request for biometrics or additional information
- 8Wait for nomination approval (visa cannot be granted before this) and visa decision
